Lakewood Ranch Medical Center is proud to announce the development of a new Emergency Medicine Residency Program launching in July 2026. We are seeking an experienced Program Director to lead the ACGME application process and shape Emergency Medicine training on Florida’s West Coast. This role offers the opportunity to build a high-quality academic program while balancing administrative leadership and clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 2025 ACGME application and accreditation process for a new Emergency Medicine residency
• Build and develop the GME program infrastructure and curriculum
• Provide clinical care in the Emergency Department
• Facilitate resident education and mentoring
• Manage administrative, leadership, and operational duties required for program success

Qualifications

• Board certified by ABEM or AOBEM
• Minimum 3 years recent educational and/or administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited program
• Prior Program Director or Associate Program Director experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong background in medical education, scholarly activity, and clinical excellence
