Capital Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and skilled Experienced Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) to join our Urology team. The APP will work closely with urologists to provide comprehensive care for patients with various urologic conditions. Responsibilities include conducting patient assessments, assisting in procedures, managing preoperative and postoperative care, and developing treatment plans.
Job Summary: Participates in team-focused patient care by means of patient examinations augmented by diagnostic and therapeutic evaluations/interventions in the outpatient clinic environment. The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization, with department-specific credentialing from the institution.
What You'll Do:
As a valued member of our healthcare team, the PA/NP will play a key role in team-focused patient care, conducting thorough examinations and evaluations in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include:
1. Using medical decision-making skills to determine an appropriate patient care plan.
2. Collaborates with the medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
3. Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
4. Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines.
5. Potential for and encouraged to precept students and/or medical learners.
6. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Physician Assistant (PA) Requirements:
• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master's Degree preferred
• Current District of Columbia Medical Board Medical License, Certified by NCCPA
• Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to start.
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) for prescription writing is required to start.
Nurse Practitioner (NP) Requirements:
• Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program, Master's degree or higher required
• Current District of Columbia Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
• Board certified as a Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC
• Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to start.
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration, for prescription writing is required to start.
