Capital Medical Group, in partnership with The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, invites applications for a full-time, Academic Rhinologist and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgeon to join its growing Division of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery in Washington, DC. This is an exceptional opportunity for a fellowship-trained physician seeking a highly collaborative academic practice with access to complex rhinologic and anterior skull base pathology, cutting-edge technology, and a diverse referral base throughout the District, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region.

 

As part of a nationally recognized academic medical environment the incoming physician will play a key role in expanding a multidisciplinary Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery Program alongside experts in neurosurgery, head and neck surgical oncology, neurotology, neuroradiology, radiation oncology, and medical oncology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive medical and surgical management of adult patients with rhinologic and sinonasal disorders, including chronic rhinosinusitis, nasal polyposis, aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD), sinonasal neoplasms, mucoceles, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, and other complex rhinologic conditions.
  • Perform advanced rhinologic procedures, including primary and revision functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), extended frontal sinus surgery, image-guided surgery, and management of advanced inflammatory and neoplastic sinonasal disease.
  • Collaborate with neurosurgical colleagues in the treatment of anterior skull base pathology through minimally invasive endoscopic approaches, including pituitary lesions and other ventral skull base tumors.
  • Help lead the continued growth and strategic development of a multidisciplinary Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Center serving patients throughout the DMV region.
  • Establish and expand a regional referral network for complex rhinology and skull base surgery, supported by a large academic health system and broad physician referral base.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinics, tumor boards, care conferences, and collaborative treatment planning with colleagues across multiple specialties.
  • Educate, mentor, and supervise otolaryngology residents, medical students, and rotating learners in both clinical and surgical settings.
  • Engage in scholarly activities aligned with academic rank and career goals, including clinical research, outcomes studies, quality improvement initiatives, translational research, clinical trials, and educational innovation.
  • Contribute to departmental, institutional, and professional service activities that support the missions of patient care, education, and academic excellence.

  • Salary: Competitive compensation in the $450K-$500K range annually, with total compensation based upon experience, academic rank, and clinical productivity

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of an ACMGE-accredited residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery or equivalent residency program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the time of appointment  
  • Completed or scheduled to complete prior to appointment, fellowship training in Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery or Advanced Rhinology
  • Demonstrated commitment to resident and medical student education
  • Eligible for District of Columbia medical licensure
